
Francis J. Vance, 92, of East Hartford went to join his beloved wife, Veronica (Cutler) Vance in heaven, on Wednesday (July 4, 2012); she predeceased him on June 25, 2012. He was born on September 30, 1919 in Minersville, PA, a son of the late Stanley and Margaret (Zelinsky) Venzlauskas. Francis was a devout catholic and a long-time member of St. Christopher Church in East Hartford. He was also a member of the church Men’s Club and the DDE Society. Francis was a very talented athlete through high school and his younger years. He was an avid fan of the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams, the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Francis was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney as a Machinist for over 43 years. Francis is survived by his daughters, Carol A. Stacey and her husband, Paul, of East Hartford and Pamela Coon and her husband, Tim, of Glastonbury; his sister Marion Boyle, of CA; his loving grandchildren, Michelle Boyd and her husband, Stuart, of Munich, Germany, Christina Stacey and her significant other, Greg Bjork, of Portland, ME, Caitlin Coon and Meredith Coon, both of Glastonbury; his adored great-grandson, Jack Logan Boyd and several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents and wife of 65 years, he is also predeceased by his brothers, Stanley Vance and Edward Venzlauskas.
The funeral service and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
