H. Patricia (derr) Zimmerman

H. Patricia 'Patti' (Derr) Zimmerman, 69, of Glastonbury, loving wife of over 46 years to Howard F. Zimmerman, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, (April 27, 2010) with her caring family by her side. Born in Lewistown, PA, on August 10, 1940 she was the daughter of Heloise E. (Snook) Derr of East Hartford and the late Robert A. Derr, and resided in Glastonbury for the past 43 years. Pat was a resident of East Hartford for many years and a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1958, and also attended Central Connecticut State University. Pat was loved and respected by and will be greatly missed by the entire company at DeMarco Management Corporation in Hartford where she was Director of Human Resources. Patti was a long-term and faithful member of South Congregational Church, East Hartford. She loved people and developed many friendships. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and always enjoyed seeing butterflies. Pat greatly loved and was devoted to her family; she in turn was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by them and all who knew her. Besides her beloved husband, Howard, and mother, Heloise, Patti is survived by her son, Steven L. Zimmerman and his wife, Noelle, of Glastonbury; her brother, Robert A. 'Mike' Derr II and his wife, Janet, of Warren, NJ; a brother-in-law, Harry A. Zimmerman and his wife, Kathryn, of Waterbury; a special friend, Irene Slusarczyk and her husband, Carl, of Vernon; many dear friends and former co-workers. Funeral services will be Monday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at South Congregational Church, 1301 Forbes Street, East Hartford with Pastor Al Turner officiating. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
