

Hilda (Nauss) Dumond, 84, of East Hartford, peacefully journeyed Home on Friday, July 24, 2015. She now joins her beloved husband of over 59 years, Joseph Armand Dumond, who predeceased her just a few short weeks earlier, proving true love lives on forever. Born in Hartford on October 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Samuel and May (Ploufe) Nauss and had lived in East Hartford for the past 60 years.
A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Hilda will be dearly missed by her daughter, Darlene Newberg and her husband John of Vernon; her four cherished grandchildren, Bryce Joseph Dumond of East Hartford, Jake Kenneth Dumond of East Hartford, Courtney May Newberg of Vernon, Tiffany Lynn Newberg of Vernon. She is also survived by her brother Spencer and his wife Joanne Nauss of Colchester; a sister Phyllis and her husband Joe D’Addario of Coventry. Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends, Hilda also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Nancy Dumond of South Windsor; a “son,” Gary Bruton of Georgia who was raised like a son by Joe and Hilda; and a son, Mark Dumond. A very special thank you to Sharyn and Andrea for the compassion and care that they gave to our mother and family.
Funeral service will be Monday, July 27, 2015 at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford at 11:30 am. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hilda’s memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Connecticut Chapter, P O Box 718, Old Mystic, CT 06372 or The Connecticut Multiple Sclerosis Society, 659 Tower Avenue, First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.
