

Jean Beverly (Hoffman) Hart, 79, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late Donald G. Hart, died peacefully on Sunday, (January 18, 2009) at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in East Hartford, a daughter of the late Frances and Mildred Hoffman, Jean lived her entire life in East Hartford. She graduated from East Hartford High School in 1947 and received her teaching degree in Elementary Education from Lesley College in Boston, MA in 1951. Jean taught first grade in East Hartford for over 30 years at Barnes School, yet her greatest reward in life was her family. She enjoyed the times spent on the front porch in Maine watching the lobster boats, and relaxing with her grandchildren on Coventry Lake. Jean was the former owner and operator for many years of the Twin Oaks Ceramic Studio in East Hartford. Jean also had a passion and talent for quilting, sewing, and bird watching. Along with her beloved husband and parents, Jean was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Olivera. Jean is survived by her caring and devoted children; son, Donald Hart and his wife Mary and their son, Brendan of Columbia, son, Peter Hart and his wife, Sana, and their children, Justin and Samantha of East Hartford, daughter, Susan Biagioni and her husband, Joe and their son Michael of Douglas, MA; her sister, Mary Braga and her husband, Harry, of Hebron; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday (January 21st) at 10:30 a.m at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
