
Joy A. (Toce) McLaughlin, 53, of Phoenix, AZ, beloved wife of twenty-six years of James McLaughlin, passed away on Tuesday, (June 29, 2010) after an accidental fall at her home. Born in Hartford, a daughter of Rocco A. Toce of East Hartford and the late Joyce E. (Blinn) Toce, she graduated from East Hartford High School and was a resident of East Hartford for most of her life prior to moving to Phoenix in 1988. Along with her beloved husband, James, and father, Rocco, Joy is survived by her only son, Damian McLaughlin, and his companion, Veronica, and their three adored children, Bryan, Elliana, and Jesse, all in Arizona; two brothers, Rocco Toce, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, in Florida, Dino M. Toce and his wife, JoAnn, of East Hartford; two sisters, Asunda DiDomenico in Florida, Paula Liappes and her husband, Gus, of Andover; a brother-in-law, John McLaughlin and his wife, Joanna, in California; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Besides her mother she was predeceased by a sister, Karen Toce of East Hartford. Joy was best known to family and friends for her kind and loving heart and giving ways. She lived a short life and left all of us too early, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday (July 11) at 5 p.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
