

Judith A. “Judi” (Thomas) Shanahan, 71, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2016. Born in Hartford on February 7, 1945, she was the daughter Barbara E. (Levangie) Thomas and the late Arthur C. Thomas. Judi was the Registrar of Voters for the town of East Hartford and recently retired from Macy’s Department Stores. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the UCONN women’s basketball team and Jeopardy. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved her kitties, Pumkin and Murphy.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Judi will be dearly missed by her three children, Patrick Shanahan, Kathy Shanahan and Sue Cyr; two adored grandchildren, Travis Cyr and Noah Carrasco and one cherished great-granddaughter, Sydney Cyr. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Rockefeller and her husband Ronald, along with many other loving family members. She was sadly predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Savannah Cyr.
Calling hours are Saturday (July 2) from 9:00-10 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
