

Anne ""Nu-Nu"" Mullen, 85, of East Hartford, entered into eternal peace at her home on Sunday, (December 12, 2010) surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Edward and Anne Mullen, and was an East Hartford resident for over fifty years. She was employed by Navin Brothers Food Service for over sixty years, right up until her recent illness. She worked for Navin Brothers at Rockledge Country Club, and Catholic High Schools, most recently at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford. June was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. She is survived by her children Deborah Fritz-Bradeen of Westport, Steven Fritz of Rocky Hill, Kathleen Doerfler of Derry, NH; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister Joan McKiernan of Bolton; the father of her children Paul Fritz of South Glastonbury; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Edward Mullen, Jackie Fortin, and Eileen Poresky. The family wishes to thank Marcella, Bob, and the Hospice staff, especially Lori, Kathy and Sarah, for their tender loving care. Special thanks to the Navin Brothers and the staff and students of Northwest Catholic for their ongoing thoughts and prayers for ""Grandma"" that were such a joy during her illness. Funeral services will be Thursday (December 16th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Wednesday (December 15th) from 4-7 p.m..
