Kevin Edward McNamara

Kevin Edward McNamara, 68, of Glastonbury and formerly of East Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at his home. Born in Hartford on March 14, 1955, a son of the late Edward M. and Jean M. (Murphy) McNamara, he was a lifelong resident of East Harford prior to moving to Glastonbury in 2019. Kevin was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, class of 1973. He continued his education by earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from the University of Hartford. For 40 years, Kevin operated his own newsstand for the Board of Education Services for the Blind at the state of Connecticut Labor Department in Wethersfield. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and enjoyed listening to music. Kevin will be remembered by his family as a hard working gentleman and a devoted son, brother, and uncle.

Kevin is survived by his sister, Anne M. Gardner and her husband Glenn Frechette of East Hartford; two brothers, Robert M. McNamara and his wife Virginia of Forestdale, MA, Neil McNamara and his wife Sandra of Southington; several nieces, nephews, an aunt, cousins, former customers, and friends.

Funeral service will be Thursday (July 20, 2023) at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, (Section G), Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday morning (July 20th) from 10 am to 11 am.
