Leon J. Zalewski, 75, of East Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, (November 2, 2010) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Borowe, Poland, a son of the late John and Maria (Zaizewa) Zalewski, he had resided in East Hartford for over twenty years. Leon was a U.S. Army veteran and had been a carpenter with the Carpenters Union Local #43, Hartford for fifty years. Leon is survived by three sisters, Anna Luhanska in France, Nadia Zalewski and Maria Zalewski both of Montreal, Canada; a nephew, Wassil Luhanski of Quebec, Canada; a niece, Tania Attali in France; several friends and former co-workers. Funeral services will be Saturday (November 13th) at 11 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Liturgy at 12 noon at St. Volodymyr Church, 110 Russ Street, Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
