
Louis Sciarra, Jr., 76, of East Hartford, loving husband of Jeanne (St. Arnauld) Sciarra, passed away on Thursday (November 10, 2005) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Bloomfield, a son of the late Luigi and Antoinette (Gattone) Sciarra, he had resided in East Hartford for the past 48 years. He was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1950 and was a proud U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a machine operator at area machine shops retiring from the former Ex-Cell-O and Textron Corporations in East Windsor. He was also a long-time faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. Besides his parents he was predeceased by four brothers, Gerald Sciarra of West Hartford, Albert Sciarra of Bloomfield, Joseph Sciarra of Rockville, Peter Sciarra of East Hartford; and four sisters, Ann Arninni of Hartford, Mary Nilson of West Hartford, Susan Chiarizio of Hartford, Constance Morin of Windsor. Besides his beloved wife of 50 years, Mr. Sciarra is survived by his son, John L. Sciarra and his wife, Lisa, of Enfield; his daughter, Nancy L. Salvati and her husband, Anthony, of South Windsor; a brother, Anthony Sciarra of Bloomfield; a sister, Carmella Yaconiello of Hartford; four adored grandchildren, Christine, Michael, and Matthew Salvati all of South Windsor, Elizabeth M. Sciarra of Enfield; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 12, at 9 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
