Margaret Peggy"" (Lyons) Hughes

Margaret ""Peggy"" (Lyons) Hughes, 84, of East Hartford, loving wife of 48 years of the late Joseph P. Hughes, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Ireland on February 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Thomas and Bridget Lyons, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Peggy was employed for 25 years by BKM of East Hartford. She enjoyed visiting the local casinos, shopping, and relaxing outside. Peggy is survived by a son, Thomas D. Hughes of Bloomfield; a daughter, Marie B. Hughes and her companion, Brian McDonnell, of Marlborough; a brother, Mike Lyons of County Cork, Ireland; two sisters, Christina Dailey of Yonkers, NY, Nora Toner of Carlingford, Ireland; two grandsons, Khaliyl Lane and Malik Lane; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and former co-workers. Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers and Mass Cards, memorial contributions in Peggy's name may be made to HARC, 900 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105.
