Mary Elizabeth Madden

Mary Elizabeth (Tully) Madden, 66, of Broad Brook, CT, formerly of East Hartford, CT passed away at home on October 2, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Ford V. Madden and the daughter of the late Lawrence J. Tully and Mary A. (Papineau) Tully. Mary Beth was born in Hartford, CT and grew up in East Hartford, CT. She graduated from East Hartford High School in 1975. She worked for many years at The Travelers Insurance Company, IFG Insurance Company, and ended her career at The Hanover Insurance Company. Throughout her career in insurance, Mary Beth developed many wonderful friends and colleagues.

Mary Beth is survived by her four children whom she cherished and will love forever: Jennifer (Kevin) Violette, Dean (Bethany) Spada, Christopher (Krista) Spada, and Kevin (Olivia) Spada. They have given her six treasured grandchildren: Aiden and Keegan Violette, Sophie Spada, Troy and Nell Spada, and Natalie Spada. She is also survived by her three brothers Timothy (Kimberly) Tully, Daniel (Kim Porcelain) Tully, and Patrick Tully. She was also an aunt to three nieces, Megan (Daniel) Cummins, Katherine Tully, and Alexandra Tully, and two nephews Ryan (Ana) Tully, and Michael Tully, as well as one grandniece Victoria Tully. She also leaves two cousins that were more like siblings: James (Susan) Britt, Karen (Thomas) Favinger, and their children Sean (Kristina) Britt, Catherine Britt, Sarah and Peter Favinger, and James F. Britt. She was predeceased by her cousin Catherine M. Britt.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Hartford HealthCare HealthCenter-Manchester, CT, especially Colleen Brown, APRN and nurses Christine and Karlene. At the family’s request, all funeral arrangements are private and there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary Beth’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
