Mary (d'alessandro) Toce

Mary (D'Alessandro) Toce, 94, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late Vito Toce, entered into eternal rest on Monday, (April 20, 2009) at Hartford Hospital. Born in East Hartford on January 21, 1915, a daughter of the late Michael and Philamina 'Minnie' (Piccarello) D'Alessandro, she had been a life-long resident of the town. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years by Olivetti Underwood. Mary was a long-time communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford and a charter member of their Ladies Guild. Mary was an avid gardener and a former ten-pin bowler who participated in several leagues at the Ten-Pin Bowling Alley in South Windsor. However, Mary's greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. Along with her beloved husband, Mary was predeceased by a son, Robert 'Bob' G. Toce, Sr. of Windsor Locks and a great-granddaughter, Shelby LePage of Coventry. Mary is survived by four grandchildren, Dorothy 'Dodie' Garvey and her fiancé, Edward Dyment, of Manchester, Mary Katryn 'Sissie' LePage and her husband, Scott, of Coventry, Robert 'Buzz' Toce, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Vernon, Jessica Kajka in Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Amanda Hansen, Tyler and Sarah LePage, Matthew Thibodeau, Kaitlyn and Elizabeth Kajka, Kaila and Kyle Toce; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be Friday (April 24th) at 10 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
