Mildred Millie"" Arnold Petrello

Mildred “Millie” Arnold Petrello, 76, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Born on February 9, 1940 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Russell H. Arnold and Whilemina (Kowalsky) Arnold. She is predeceased by her son, Dominic A. Petrello, Jr. and her brother Russell H. Arnold, Jr. Millie leaves behind her beloved grandson, Dominic A. Petrello, III of Florida, who was the biggest part of her life; two sisters, Florence Arnold Dihlman of Glastonbury and Shirley Arnold Tomany of East Hartford; her niece, Kimberly Ann Tomany of East Hartford and her nephew, Russell H. Arnold III of Reno, Nevada as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her cat Casey, who she loved dearly. Millie was a very hard working woman who worked at Projects Corporation for 51 years before retiring in 2011. She was a very loving and caring woman who was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed having friends over for picnics, renting summer cottages at the beach and camping. The family would like to express their gratitude to Rachel Moore, APRN of Wethersfield and Doctor James Pope for all the wonderful care they gave Millie over the past ten years, as well as the staff at Hartford Hospital for taking such good care of Millie during her stay there. The family would also like to thank Millie’s niece and nephew, Anthony and Sue Quattrocchi for their love and support, as well as her dear friends, Rachel and Rafina Romero and Betty Ann Moran, and her longtime friends, Ann Quealy and Barbara Milewski.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday (May 25) from 5- 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
