Minnie M. DelMastro, beloved wife for 71 years of Daniel J. DelMastro, entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, September 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born in the family home in East Hartford on November 24, 1921 to the late Joseph and Mary (Parente) Franco, she lived in East Hartford most of her life and was a parishioner of St. Rose Church for over 85 years. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and was involved in many of their activities over the years. She graduated from East Hartford High School in 1938. After graduation, she worked at Bergren Dairy and Consolidated Motors until starting a family. She loved to cook and bake, especially the Swedish Gem cookies that were such a treat for her grandchildren. Minnie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, trips to the casino, and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Most of all, she loved her family. Being a stay-at-home Mom, she was always present for her children and their friends. Everyone was always welcome at her table. The special loves of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jody DelMastro, of Glastonbury, and her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Stigliano of Newington. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Stigliano and his fiancée, Christine Peluso of Ellington, Todd and Jenna Stigliano of Manchester, Antonio and Sara DelMastro of West Hartford, and Lisa and William Wolf, of Zachary, LA. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Christian, Andrew and Luke Stigliano and soon-to-be born Luca DelMastro.
She is further survived by her sister, Marguerite Franco, and brother, Thomas Franco, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Franco, Ann Franco, Jennie Krar and Mildred Bonk.
