Paul D. Arcand

Paul D. Arcand, affectionately known as "Rinky," peacefully transitioned to the Lord on March 17, 2024, at the age of 64, in Groton, CT. He was the cherished son of Elizabeth “Betty” M. Arcand and the late Henry J. Arcand of East Hartford. Paul's legacy lives on through his devoted children: Chase Arcand of Groton, Paige Arcand of East Hartford, Terrence Dupont and daughter-in-law Libby of Massachusetts, and his stepdaughter Tabatha, all of whom he loved deeply. He held a special place in his heart for his brother Jay Arcand of South Carolina, sister Diane Mileskie (Arcand), and brother-in-law Steven Mileskie of South Carolina. His girlfriend, Gloria Maria Cardona, was a beloved presence in Paul's life, and he cherished her deeply. Paul found joy in the company of his nieces, nephews, and granddaughters: Taylor Piccolo of Massachusetts, Danielle Piccolo of Suffield, Nicholas Piccolo of South Carolina, Sarina Arcand of Glastonbury, Madison, Evelyn, and Allison, who brought him immense happiness.

A native of East Hartford, Paul graduated from George J. Penney High School before furthering his education at MacMurray College in Illinois. A skilled carpenter by trade, Paul was self-employed and admired for his craftsmanship.

A faithful parishioner of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Mystic, Paul had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and shared many memorable moments with his cherished Brittany Spaniel, "Nico," earning numerous accolades with the Southern New England Brittany Club.

Paul's circle of family, cousins, neighbors, and friends was an extension of his own family, and he will forever be remembered as a supportive presence, cheering on his loved ones in their daily pursuits. His love knows no bounds.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Tuesday, March 26, from 10-11:30 a.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 11:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, located at 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.
