

Reno G. Thibodeau, 79, of East Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital surrounded by his caring family and friends. Born in Van Buren, ME on February 28, 1937, a son of the late Antheme and Mida (Parent) Thibodeau, he was raised and attended schools in Hartford and had been a resident of East Hartford for over 43 years. Reno was a graduate of Hartford Regional Technical High School, Class of 1955 and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. A devout catholic, Reno was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, East Hartford. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Service Engineer by New Britain Machine Manufacturing Company where he worked for 35 years. Reno was proud of his French heritage and was a former President and member of the French Model Conseil Club in New Britain. He liked to work in his vegetable garden, especially caring for his tomatoes and peppers. He also loved going back and visiting Maine.
Reno is survived by his devoted brother, Andrew Thibodeau, Sr. and his wife, Beverly, of East Hartford; five cherished nieces, Wendy Bullard, Donna Pelletier and her husband Kevin, Diana Hibner, Lisa Futtner and her husband Jeff, Denise Wojick and her husband Jay; a special nephew, Andrew Thibodeau, Jr. and his significant other Karen; and fourteen adored great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves a very dear friend, Isobel Fagan and her husband Jeff of East Hartford; several cousins, former co-workers, and friends. Besides his beloved parents, Reno was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Melvyn Bullard of Burlington.
Funeral service will be Saturday (June 18, 2016) at 8:30 a.m. from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Church, One Community Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section Y), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday (June 17, 2016) from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions in Reno’s name may be made to the French Model Conseil Club, 1375 East Street, New Britain, CT 06053 or to the Acadian Village, U.S. Route 1, Van Buren, ME.
