

Rosa (Andrade) Braga, 81, of East Hartford, loving wife of over fifty years of the late Joao A. Braga, peacefully passed away on Saturday, (September 8, 2012). Born in Santa Maria, province of Azores, Portugal on April 29, 1931 she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1977. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford, and a member of the Holy Ghost Portuguese Society, East Hartford. Prior to her retirement she was employed for over twenty years by St. Joseph College, West Hartford. Rosa enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and crocheting (especially sweaters and socks). Rosa was predeceased by her parents, Jose Joaquim de Andrade and Maria de Andrade; a daughter, Beatrice Moura of East Hartford; a grandson, Michael Moura of East Hartford; and two sisters, Maria Sousa and Emilia Andrade both of East Hartford. Rosa is survived by two caring and devoted daughters, Maria Moura and her husband, Antonio, of South Windsor, M. Connie Gamero and her husband, Manuel, of East Hartford; and six adored grandchildren, Melissa Moura, William Gamero, Selena Gamero, Anthony Gamero, Diane Moura, and Celia Moura. She also leaves a son-in-law, Silvino Moura of East Hartford; three brothers, Victorino Andrade and his wife, Maria, in Florida, Jose Andrade and his wife, Virginia, of West Hartford, Joao Andrade and his wife, Maria, in Rhode Island; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 8:45 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 40 Fatima Square, Hartford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
