Rosemary ""Missy"" Pallotti Leone, wife of the late Alvin C. Leone, died Monday, January 28, 2013. Born in Hartford on March 23, 1918, the daughter of Judge (and later Attorney General) Francis A. Pallotti and Mary V. Pallotti, she was a graduate of The Oxford School, The Westover School and Pine Manor Junior College. She resided in East Hartford for over 70 years and was a communicant of St. Rose Church. During World War II, she was employed as a secretary at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. Married to her beloved Alvin for 46 years until his death in 1986, she became the matriarch of a proud family of three sons, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. For many years, she was an avid bowler serving as a league and team officer. She was also skilled in knitting and various needle crafts making sweaters, afghans and ornaments for family and friends. She loved sports, holding season tickets to the Whalers, and celebrating her 90th birthday at Fenway Park. Her life was devoted to her family and countless friends whom she loved to entertain with her cooking expertise and her always engaging smile. Her hospitality at her homes in East Hartford and Clinton came effortlessly and naturally to this marvelous woman whose smile would light up a room and whose mere presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her. She was loved and respected by everyone who ever had the pleasure to know her from the supermarket butcher to her husband's professional colleagues, and the memory of her will undoubtedly bring a smile to all who knew her. In addition to her husband Alvin, she was predeceased by her brother Nicholas F. Pallotti and her oldest son Attorney William A. Leone. She is survived by her son, the Reverend Bryan A. Leone and his wife Katherine; her son Attorney Frank A. Leone and Joanna Kelliher; her daughter-in-law, Beverly S. Leone; her grandchildren: Christina Leone; Melissa Leone Delaney and her husband Richard; Valerie Leone Calciano and her husband Dominick; Dr. Timothy A. Leone and his wife Jennifer; and Emily Leone; and her great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great joy and happiness: Andrew, Ryan and Kaitlyn Delaney; Gianna, Dominick and Liliana Calciano; and Nicholas Leone. She is also survived by her two nieces Mary Russell and Elisabeth Gustafson and their children. Missy will be especially missed by her dear friend and neighbor of more than 50 years, Josephine Sale and by Crawford Westbrook, a caring neighbor and friend for over 70 years. The family wishes to thank her special caregivers, Dority, Akua, Ann and Laurie for their kindnesses.
