

Tanya (Ziruk) Strafach, 90, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Born in Hartford on July 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Tekla “Tilly” (Cheishetzka) Ziruk and had lived in the area all her life. She was a 1945 graduate of Hartford Public High School. She was the former owner of Tanya’s Restaurant in Windsor Locks and also worked for 20 years at Aetna Insurance Company. Tanya enjoyed cooking but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be forever missed by her three daughters, Daria Doll of Columbia, Gina Epstein of Middletown and Tanya Strafach of Manchester and her five adored grandchildren; Eva Doll, Walter Doll, Rachel Epstein-Ocampo, Joseph Epstein and Michele Epstein as well as two great grandchildren; Andrew Doll-Wright and James Weinbaum. She is also survived by her sister, Miriam Ziruk of South Windsor and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Michael, Walter and George Ziruk and one sister, Sylvia Ziruk.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, section 22, on Friday, June 22nd at 10:00am.There are no calling hours.
