Theresa Gail Kolasinski of Marlborough, CT left this world peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends. Gail was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Roger S. Kolasinski. Born in Wallagrass, ME, Gail was the fifth and youngest daughter of the late Myrtle (Brown) and Lindore Labbé. Later, her family moved to West Hartford and Gail graduated from Hall High School, Class of 1962. Gail married her husband Roger in the fall of 1969 and they moved to Virginia. They began Kol Bio Medical Instruments, Inc. in 1971 as a young couple with big dreams. While Roger pursued the sales and marketing components, Gail assumed the responsibilities for the administrative duties and warehouse operations. As the years went by and others became employed to fulfill many of her responsibilities, she would become the Corporate Secretary. In her free time, Gail enjoyed playing tennis, boating, dancing, reading and being with friends and family. She was also an avid fan of the Washington Nationals and Washington Redskins. Most of all Gail loved Roger, they traveled the world and enjoyed life side by side. After Roger passed, Gail moved back to Connecticut to be close to family. But leaving all of her Virginia friends behind was difficult; tennis friends, work friends, and especially Chris Oswell and Robert Christy.
Gail is survived by her three sisters; Betty Daigle and husband Joseph of Florida, Jackie Labbé of Middletown, Geraldine Pericolosi and husband Robert “Perk” of Marlborough, and sister-in-law Judith Kolasinski of East Hartford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she treated like her own children, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends. Gail is predeceased by her sister Marilyn Keegan and husband James, brother-in-law Gerald Kolasinski Jr., nephew Patrick Keegan and nephew Jerry Daigle.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday (March 22) 10 am at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, 30 Jones Hollow Road, Marlborough. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. There are no calling hours. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the arrangements. Gail’s family is incredibly grateful for Susan Kearns who has been Gail’s aide, advocate, and friend since moving back to Connecticut. A special thanks to Corinne DiBacco, RN, the entire staff at By The River, Marlborough, and all of her nurses and doctors who guided the family through Gail’s battle with Alzheimer’s. Gail enjoyed the other residents at By The River and always had a big smile for friends and family that stopped by for a visit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gail’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
