

William “Willo” Torres, Sr., 82, of East Hartford, beloved husband of 55 years of Ana Iris Gonzalez, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 with his caring family by his side. Born in Puerto Rico on March 30, 1943, a son of the late Dolores Torres and Eulalia Rivera, he had been a longtime resident of the East Hartford area. Prior to his retirement, William was employed for several years by the Hartford Courant newspaper as a paper assembler. William was a talented harmonica player who would love to sing and play his instrument for others to enjoy. He was also a good cook who liked to prepare different dishes of Hispanic food for his family and friends. William liked spending time in his home while listening to a variety of music genres.
Along with his wife Ana, William is survived by his son, William Torres, Jr. and his wife Ana Miriam Torres of East Hartford with whom he made his home; three daughters, Ana Maria Torres and her husband Hector Louis Ramirez of Puerto Rico, Myriam Torres of Broad Brook, Wildalyz Torres and her husband Peter Talbot of Broad Brook; two brothers in Puerto Rico; three sisters in Puerto Rico; four adored grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by eight siblings.
Private funeral service will be at the convenience of the family at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
