Adela B. Barriga

Our beloved Adela (Bustillos) Barriga left us suddenly Saturday April 11th 2026 with her two eldest daughters present. Adela was born on December 16, 1939 in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico to Dominga Parra-Bustillos and Reyes Bustillos. She was the second daughter and third child to Dominga and Reyes.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Barriga, parents, older sister Alicia Puente, younger sisters Virginia Barraza, Paulina Rico, nephew Manuel ‘Manny ’Rico, mother in law Carlota Lerma, sister in law Maria ‘Nena ’Bonfiglio, sons in law Ronald ‘Ronnie ’Rodriguez, Gabriel Ramirez.

She is survived by her brother Pedro Bustillos (dec. Martha); daughters, Blanca Ramirez (Hector), Frieda Rodriguez (dec. Ronnie), Helia Ward (Jim); son, Ernesto ‘Ernie ’Barriga (Anabel), and step-son Reuben Hernandez (Paola); sisters in law, Lupe Matthes, Estrella Monteros; brothers in law, Enrique Martinez (Mariana), Virgil Monterros; grandchildren, Rebecca Rodriguez, Sarah Ramirez, Raquel Ward, Aaron Rodriguez, James Ward, Juanita Rodriguez, Juan Ramirez, Miguel Ramirez, Ryan Barriga, Samantha Fabela, Aiden Barriga, and her twelve great-grandchildren; cousin Preciliano Ortega; nieces, Laura, Irene, Irma, Diana, Cindy and nephews, Tony, Hugo, Roman, Mundo, David, Richie, and Daymien. She is also survived by many more loved ones and family members.

Adela dedicated her life to raising her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was selfless with her time and love, and always went above and beyond for those she held close to her heart, and any in need that came across her path. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, and above all else spending time with her family.

We will be holding a visitation Monday, April 20 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a celebration of life starting at 7:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79903 and funeral services on Tuesday April 21st from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central to be followed by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
