

Dad was born on June 26, 1936 to Adolph and Delfina Carson in El Paso, Texas. After graduating from Jefferson High School, he went on to serve in the United States Air Force where he was a trained air traffic controller. Upon his discharge from the military, he met the love of his life, Christina Elvira Gallardo Carson. Together they forged a marriage that spanned 65 wonderful years.
Dad began his career as an El Paso firefighter in 1963. He served 25 years in the department earning the rank of District Fire Chief. He was a proud fireman who was highly respected and loved by his fellow firefighters for his integrity and leadership.
Dad and Mom adored and cared deeply for each other every day of their lives together. Dad made it a priority to tell her he loved her every day. They shared a love for music and he took her out dancing every week. He was never shy with his love and affection for his family. He was an avid reader and a deep thinker and philosopher who liked to be well informed. He gave great advice.
Dad could build anything and fix everything. He was a steadfast provider and great role model to his children. He was the epitome of a true gentleman. He built a beautiful home with big windows for Mom and kids. Dad was a fan of westerns and John Wayne and artist Frederic Remington. He took art classes and created many fine desert art pieces.
In retirement, Dad played golf every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 30 years with his many golf buddies. He loved the desert and the beautiful warm sunshine of El Paso. Dad was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, UTEP Miners and the Chicago Cubs. Dad had many friends and always showed compassion and kindness to everyone he met.
Before he became ill, Dad was a faithful parishioner of Saint Stephen Catholic Church of El Paso, Texas. One of his greatest achievements was leaving a legacy of faith to his family and he will be greatly missed.
Dad and Mom created a loving family consisting of four sons and three daughters.
Son Adolph Carson III of El Paso and his wife Delia, daughter Elizabeth Carson of Peoria, Arizona and her husband Carlos Rodriguez, daughter Annette Sanders of El Paso, Texas and her husband Michael Sanders, daughter Rose Hainline of Rowlett, Texas and her husband Allen Hainline, son Christopher Carson of Las Cruces, New Mexico and his wife Beth, son John Carson of Corinth, Texas and his wife Diana, son Stephen Carson of Plano, Texas and his wife Maggie.
Grandchildren Ben Rodriguez, Katie Ensign, David Hainline, Kellie Sapaugh, Christina Mendoza, Jane Claxton, Carson Norris (deceased), Kevin Hainline, Mitchell Norris, Luke Norris, Ellen Carson, Mary Carson, Jamie Carson, Kacie Carson, Jeremy Carson, Samuel Carson and Jacob Carson
Great Grandchildren Cole Sapaugh, Ambrose Sapaugh, Caleb Sapaugh, Waylon Claxton and Santiago Mendoza.
Dad has one surviving sister, Clara Blancas. He is preceded in death by his brothers John and Richard Carson and his sisters Nellie Parks, Mary Wells and Dolly Guzman.
Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 3021 Frutas Ave., 79905.
