Alfredo R. Sanchez Sr

Alfredo R. Sanchez, Sr., 86 passed away May 24, 2013. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle. A long time resident of El Paso, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Victorina L. Sanchez, his parents and brother, Alfonso Robles. He is survived by his second wife, Soledad R. Sanchez and his daughters, Bertha A. Sanchez, Martha S. Elhams (Karem), Grace Barrientos (John), son, Alfredo Sanchez (Maria) and 4 grandchildren. His legacy of hard work, perseverance and spirit of adventure will live on in his children and grandchildren, Omar, Matthew, Osamah and Gabrielle. Alfredo held a variety of jobs. He worked for the City of El Paso, for JOBE Construction, Levi's Manufacturing Company and owned two grocery stores. Before he retired as a school bus driver for EPISD, he received the Driver Of The Year award for the 1986-1987 school year. The family would like to thank Dr. Maria Cecilia Steans, Del Sol Inpatient Hospital Physician, James T. Szostek, Chaplain, and the caregivers at Global Hospice Care for their care and support. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, Central.
