She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in the year of 1956 and went on to work at the clothing factory named Farah for 40 years and retired from there. Blasa embodied the transformative power of kindness, spreading joy and warmth to everyone she encountered, forging profound connections that transcended mere acquaintances. With unwavering generosity, she put others first, inspiring a ripple effect of compassion and empathy. Her bright blue eyes sparkled like a guiding light, drawing people in, while her irrepressible humor and radiant positivity uplifted those around her, creating a lasting legacy of love and resilience that her family cherished deeply. Blasa's love for her family was unwavering, as they were her rock and inspiration. Growing up, she had a zest for life, embracing the outdoors through camping, fishing, and gardening, while also exploring her passions for music, travel, and cuisine. Her enthusiasm for football was evident in her loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. Embracing her Mexican/Hispanic heritage, Blasa took immense pride in her cultural roots, which played a vital role in shaping her identity and outlook on life.
Blasa was preceded in death by her father George Nieves, her Mother Soledad Mendoza, sister Irene Aceves, Brother George Nieves Jr., brother Manny Mendoza, Nephew George Nieves III and many other members of the family that are next to our Heavenly Father. Her memories and legacy will continue to be cherished by her children, Cindy S. Lujan, Enrique M Porras III, Martha Porras (Daughter-In-Law), Patricia Porras, and George Lujan (Son-In-Law) to include her nine grandchildren; Nadine Lujan, George Lujan, Henry Porras, Jennifer Porras, Mechelle Ybarra, Blanca Porras, Valerie Castillo, Benjamin Porras, Vanessa Porras, and 19 great grandchildren.
Services have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central. Visitation to be held from 5:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas 79903. Scripture Service will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at Funeraria del Angel Central, followed by interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd. El Paso, Texas 79907.
