Carlene West, 83, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was born in Coleman, Texas on March 6, 1942, to Carl Wheaton and Johnnie Mae Fobbs. Carlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James West Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gayla R. Washington, Charles T. Champion, Reba A. Coffee, Lisa Bass-Lawrence, Kimberly S. Thill and Anthony West. Mrs. Carlene West also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, James Wheaton, Dwight Wheaton, Leopoleum Jacobs, Leonard Jacobs, and Victor Jacobs and sisters, Elizabeth Crowell, Samatha Fobbs. Carlene was preceded in death by her dear sister, Jessie Mae Blade. Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 12 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 12400 Montana Ave, 79938. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
