Catherine Ann Bauman, our beloved Cathy, danced through life with a zest that was contagious. Born in Albuquerque, NM, on November 6, 1952, and adding a spark to El Paso, TX, for much of her life, Cathy graced the world for 72 wonderful years. On March 14, 2025, she left us, but her vibrant spirit continues to illuminate our hearts. Cathy was an embodiment of love, always giving and living life with a wholehearted exuberance that made everyone feel warmly welcomed.
Survived by her devoted husband, Charles Robert Thwaits, and her cherished daughter, Liza Bauman, Catherine's legacy of love continues to shine brightly. She will always be carried in her grandchildren’s hearts, Tyler Gonnell, Megan Gonnell, Zachary Gonnell and Jacob Torres as well with her surviving brothers, Charles David Bombach, Richard Allen Bombach and Edward James Bombach. While her absence leaves a void, we take solace in the knowledge that she has reunited with her predeceased parents, Carlos David and Angelina Bombach and her son, Christopher Gonnell. Cathy's memory will forever be a light, guiding us and reminding us of the beauty she brought into our lives.
As we remember Cathy, let us celebrate the vibrant life she lived and share memories and stories of Cathy. To honor her memory, Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, TX 79903, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will follow at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere, El Paso, TX 79912, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 10 am.
Cathy was a beacon of light in every room she entered, always ready with a smile and an open heart. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in every sunset, every family gathering, and every act of kindness that warms the heart. Rest easy, Cathy, knowing you were loved beyond measure, you are now the most beautiful star in the night sky.
