

Christopher B. Arrieta October 31, 1969 to September 29, 2015 Christopher (Chris) fought and lost a courageous battle against brain cancer (glioblastoma) on Tuesday September 29, 2015 at the tender age of 45. Chris is survived by his loving parents Lydia Hofer and Babil (Bob) Arrieta. His half-sister Maria Denise Vidra (Dan), niece Ashley Wilkens (Patrick), nephew Jeremy Vidra, his aunts Rosa A. Bessierre and Mary Arrieta; and his loving (furry companions) Ginger and Guapo. Chris was preceded in death by his grand parents Babil and Rosa A. Arrieta, Victor and Tatiana Fediay, and uncle George Fediay. Chris embraced life and grew up in the Washington D.C. area and graduated from Robinson High School, Fairfax, Virginia. Chris worked as an intern for Congressman Arlan Stangeland for two summers and was employed as a Ranger with the Capitol Regional Park Service Office of the Department of Interior. In 1991, he made his way to El Paso where he attended the University of Texas at El Paso and then worked with the Speaking Rock Casino prior to being diagnosed with "brain cancer" in 2001. Despite his cancer Chris enjoyed playing golf, Frisbee golf, ping pong, and tennis. Chris considered himself a "gourmet cook" and enjoyed fine dining and visiting the Food Trucks that cater to the El Paso community. We wish to thank the nursing staff from the Telemetry ward at Sierra Providence Medical Center West and Dr. George Martin (Neurosurgeon) for the compassion and professionalism they showed in caring for Chris. The funeral service will be held at Martin Funeral Home Central at 3839 Montana Ave., Saturday October 10, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm (service at 6:00pm).The Family ask's in Lieu of flowers that you make a donation to the National Brain Tumor Society in Honor of Christopher Arrieta.
