Daniel (Danny) Mendoza left our world to meet with the Lord on Friday, April 11th at the young age of 58 years. He was born and raised in El Paso, TX. He moved to San Diego in 2003 where he lived for 20 years. He returned to El Paso in July of 2023 to aid in the care of his in-laws. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Eloisa Mendoza, older infant brother Jesus Mendoza, sister Herlinda Lara (Eduardo) and mother in-law Martha De Santiago (Eddie) and nephew Brandon Garibay. He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mendoza, only child- son Eric Christian Mendoza, sisters Raquel Melendez (Hector), Maria Teresa Frias (Pete), Beatriz Mendoza and brother Ricardo Mendoza (Sharon), stepsister Evangelina Gomez, sister-in law Sandra Garcia (Ruben). He was godfather to Adrian Carreon (Araceli) and Breanna Rose Carreon. He was uncle to nine nephews, ten nieces and many grandnephews and grandnieces and even more great grandnephews and great grandnieces. Additionally, he was a nephew to many aunts and uncles.
Danny was a devoted catholic and member of both St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Escondido, CA and St. Pius X Catholic Church in El Paso. He prayed the rosary nightly along with his long list of additional daily prayers for his family and friends. He was employed by Veradigm for 12 years and worked from home side by side with his beloved Lizzie. He was a graduate of Irvin High School and El Paso Security Academy. He lived life passionately and to the fullest, making smiles wherever he went. His purity of heart allowed for unconditional love to all his family and friends, always eager to listen and offer a shoulder to cry or lean on. Those lucky enough to call his friend had an unlimited amount of help, prayer and hugs. His patience was unmeasurable. This was very evident when he painted his ceramics taking all the time needed to carefully finish his piece. He was married for over 33 years and was a real foodie loving his wife’s cooking and baking of which it was always followed with a hearty ‘Yuummee”. Danny loved to dance and was happiest on the dance floor dancing with his wife. He was an assistant coach to Eric’s little league T-Ball team, showed him how to drive, be a great pool player and loved to rock out with his son listening to Ozzy Osborne when driving. The birds in the neighborhood knew when he went outside as they were looking for him to be fed. Even the neighborhood squirrels waited patiently for him to give them some nuts. He went outside nightly to assure his lighted flowers in the garden were lit and shining brightly.
Danny was loved as he loved. Though his life was cut too short, he will be forever missed here on earth. We know he is now celebrating in Heaven with all that past before him enjoying paradise with our Lord and waiting patiently to dance again with his “Hunny”.
Rest in Peace our Beloved Danny you’ve earned your angel wings!
