February 23, 1959 – January 4, 2026
Debra Ann Robles, born on February 23, 1959, in El Paso, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2026, at the age of 66. She lived a life full of fierce love, unshakeable faith, and just the right amount of sass to keep everyone on their toes.
A devoted daughter of Margarita B. Evans (still going strong!) and the late Robert Upton Evans, Debra was the beloved sister of Patricia Gardea. She raised three incredible children who were her greatest pride: daughter Leilani Padilla, son Sammy E. Robles, and son Evan R. Robles. Her heart overflowed with even more love for her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren—proof that her legacy of strength, kindness, and a little bit of fire is already being passed down through the generations.
Debra was a force of nature: kind to her core, strong-willed enough to move mountains (or at least get her point across), and ferocious when anyone messed with the people she loved. She never backed down from a challenge, and she lived by her favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She didn’t just quote it; she embodied it, every single day.
Her passions were as colorful as she was. A faithful member of Abundant Living Faith Center, she found joy in worship and community. She rocked out to Skillet (because who doesn’t love a little Christian rock to get the blood pumping?), and she could spend hours glued to the TV—cheering (or yelling) at the baking show contestants and judges, then switching over to those classic daytime courtroom shows where the judges laid down the law with zero patience for nonsense. Debra loved every dramatic gavel bang, stern lecture, and “That’s ridiculous!” verdict. She probably would’ve made a great judge herself—fair, fierce, and not afraid to tell it like it is.
Debra had a quick wit and a laugh that could light up any room. She faced life’s ups and downs with grace, grit, and the occasional perfectly timed eye-roll. She was the mom, grandma, and great-grandma who loved hard, prayed harder, and reminded us all that with faith, you can handle anything—even when the cake falls flat, the kids are driving you up the wall, or someone’s lying on the stand.
Debra is survived by her beloved children: Leilani Padilla, Sammy E. Robles, and Evan R. Robles; her former husband and the loving father of her children, Sammy L. Robles, with whom she shared many cherished years and enduring family bonds; her mother, Margarita B. Evans; her sister, Patricia Gardea; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will carry her light forward.
A memorial service to celebrate Debra’s life will be held on February 23, 2026 (her birthday—what better day to throw her a heavenly party?), from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79903.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing a kind word, blasting some Skillet, watching one of those classic courtroom shows in her honor, or simply living out Philippians 4:13 the way she did—with strength, heart, and a little fire.
Rest easy, Mom. You fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. We’ll be seeing you on the other side… and don’t worry, we’ll bring the frosting (and maybe a gavel for good measure).
