

Edna Marie Colunga Trevizo passed away peacefully at home and into the arms of Jesus her Savior on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born in Florence, Arizona on August 21, 1943, she was a life-long resident of El Paso, Texas with roots in Buena Vista. She graduated from El Paso High in 1962 and loved re-connecting with her many friends at numerous reunions.
Excellence, integrity, and a strong work ethic were hallmarks of her character. She served the El Paso Police Department diligently as a records specialist for sixteen years, bringing joy and laughter to her colleagues who will miss her presence dearly. Music and dancing were among her life’s joys and she loved to jitterbug to Big Band and Oldies. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and made the best lasagna and chile con queso. Her compassionate heart, ability to feel things deeply and appreciate life’s simple blessings will always be remembered. Her boundless energy and generous heart made Edna one-of-a-kind. She was fiercely loyal to her family, friends and those she loved. Edna was a vivacious, joyful burst of sunshine who will be deeply missed by her wide circle of friends and extended family she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her parents Guillermo and Virginia Colunga whom she cherished. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Cindy) Trevizo of Vancouver, WA; son Jacob Trevizo, daughter-in-law Jodi and granddaughter Sayani of Atlanta, GA as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous best friends who brought joy to her life. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Central on Tuesday, December 4th from 5:00-9:00 PM with a prayer vigil at 6:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 AM Wednesday, December 5th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark Dr.
