Eduardo, known as “Eddie” or “Lalo”, was born and raised in El Paso, TX, on July 5, 1954, to Aurelio and Consuelo Holguin. He was a graduate of Austin High School, class of 1972. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He was a gem of a person who enjoyed life to the fullest with his infectious laugh, making jokes, and ensuring the people he cared for were always happy. He was a man of many passions to include rocking out to his music, fishing, camping, traveling, playing sports, watching his favorite teams the Pittsburgh Steelers and Boston Celtics, and spending time with his family and friends. A dedicated and diligent worker, Eddie spent 24 years at Federal Mogul before retiring in 2020. He was a man of generosity and kindness and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be dearly missed by his children: Melissa Machorro and Eddie Abel Holguin; grandchildren: Matteo, Isabella, and Olivia; brothers: Abel Holguin and Javier Holguin; sisters: Hilda Magdaleno and Irene Mercado; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Aurelio and Consuelo Holguin and nephew Frankie Gil.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel, 3839 Montana El Paso, TX 79903. Viewing services will be open from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with the Celebration of Life beginning at 6:30 pm. The interment will follow on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 East Montana El Paso, TX 79938.
