

Esther Armendariz, 45, of El Paso, TX passed away on January 9, 2025. She is preceded in death by her father, Heriberto Armendariz. She is survived by her mother, Dora Armendariz, brother Armando Saldivar (Mari Saldivar), sister Rocio Hernandez (Ernie Hernandez), and sister Ruth Armendariz. She will be greatly missed by her six nieces and nephews Lizette (Cody), Armando (Jessica), Janette, Ernie (Cassandra), Cassandra (Ryan) & Eric, ten great-nieces and nephews and one great great-niece.
Esther was born and raised in El Paso, TX, where she graduated from Riverside High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. Esther was a passionate Special Education teacher who specialized in working with students with Auditory Impairments. During her 23 year career, she worked for both Ysleta ISD & Socorro ISD. The majority of her career was spent in SISD, where she had the opportunity to impact the lives of countless students, colleagues and families. Often referred to as an early bird, Esther was dedicated to providing the best learning experiences for her students day in and day out.
Though very committed to her career, Esther looked forward to breaks as this meant another opportunity to see the world. Esther was a world traveler, booking trips to Europe, South America and major US cities whenever possible. She was appreciative of any culture, and always made sure to indulge in the diversity wherever she traveled to. Despite the difficulty of losing her, her family is grateful the rest of the world was given the opportunity to meet our amazing Esther.
