She was born and raised in El Paso, to Feliciano Garcia and Victoria Aguinaga, and stepfather Prospero Cortinas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister with a life marked by deep faith, patriotism, and unwavering devotion to her family. She married Lorenzo Santiesteban and had a daughter, Aida Santiesteban. later she married George Alvidrez and had a son, Michael Alvidrez. Felicitas graduated in 1943 from Bowie High School. Her strong will, witty charisma, and infectious laugh will be greatly missed. She spent a career managing retail clothing stores. Felicitas' favorite song was "Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera)" sung by Doris Day. She thoroughly enjoyed and danced to the big band era music, and commented later, that music was never the same quality.
She is survived by her son Michael (Armida) Alvidrez; three grandchildren, Andrew (Mary-Carmen), Richard (Emilda) and Natalie (Angel); three great-grandchildren Damion, Marisa, and Aaron; and three great-great-grandchildren. Felicitas is also survived by her sister Martha Cortinas Ramirez and her husband Frank. Felicitas was preceded in passing by her parents, spouses, daughter and siblings: Feliciano Garcia Jr., David, Rafael, Esther, Alfonso, Luis and Rebeca Cortinas.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Graveside service will be Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79938.
