

Francisco was born on October 4, 1943 on the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi to Antonia Chavarria and Calixto Montes.
Francisco is survived by Guadalupe Montes, his wife of 58 years, his daughter, Sylvia Ginithan,
his son, Francisco Montes Jr., his daughter, Patricia Montes Paulino, and his daughter, Ida Salcedo. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren who he loved dearly. Francisco was a devoted Catholic, son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who had a great love for his family. His passions were the outdoors, farming and serving his community. He also had a strong work ethic that he inherited from his mother, his grandfather Jose “Papá Che” Chavarria and his father-in-law, Jose R. Lopez. He resided in El Paso County most of his life and he worked/retired from Asarco Smelting and Refining Company. The last 3 years of his life, he fulfilled his dream by owning a property in Capitan, New Mexico which is in the Lincoln National Forest near Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Visitation for Francisco will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM with Rosary at 6:30PM at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East, 12400 Montana Avenue, El Paso, TX 79938. A Roman Catholic Requiem Mass will be offered on December 2, 2021 at 9:00AM at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Burial will follow Mass at 11:00AM at Evergreen Cemetery East at 12400 Montana Avenue, El Paso 79938.
