Francisco “Panchito” Rodriguez Reyes, un hombre que llenaba cada cuarto de sonrisas y risas, y cuyo espíritu tocó el corazón de todos quienes lo conocieron, partió en paz el 2 de mayo de 2026, apenas unos días antes de cumplir sus 80 años. Nació el 15 de mayo de 1946 en la hermosa ciudad de Parral, Chihuahua, México, donde desde pequeño se forjó ese carácter vibrante y lleno de vida que lo caracterizó siempre.

Panchito creció en Delicias, Chihuahua, donde desarrolló un amor profundo y duradero por su tierra y por el equipo de béisbol de su corazón, Los Algodoneros de Delicias. A los 17 años, con valor y valentía, emigró a los Estados Unidos, estableciendo su vida primero en Los Ángeles y después, en 1976, en El Paso, Texas — ciudad que adoptó con todo su corazón y llamó su hogar.

Quienes conocieron a Panchito sabían que estaban en presencia de alguien verdaderamente especial. Vivió la vida a su manera, con una alegría contagiosa que era imposible ignorar. A donde quiera que llegaba, la gente se reunía a su alrededor — atraída por su humor inigualable, su don para contar historias y la calidez inconfundible que irradiaba. Hacía de cada momento algo memorable, fiel a un hombre que entendía el verdadero valor del tiempo y de la convivencia.

Católico devoto, Panchito llevó la fe muy dentro de su corazón, inspirado en gran medida por su adorada madre, Marianita, cuya fe profunda fue luz y guía en su vida. Guardó siempre una devoción especial por la Virgen de Guadalupe — “mi Virgencita” — quien le dio consuelo y fortaleza a lo largo de todos sus días.

Panchito tenía un amor profundo por la música, y pocas cosas le daban más alegría que el sonido inconfundible de los Mariachis. Era un ferviente aficionado a los deportes — leal a sus queridos Algodoneros de Delicias y a los Dodgers de Los Ángeles, y apasionado del boxeo que nunca se perdió una buena pelea. Disfrutaba el emocionante juego del póker, ya fuera en el casino o en casa rodeado de familia y amigos. Y en un día caluroso, nada lo satisfacía más que una cerveza bien fría con clamato y limón sobre hielo — un placer sencillo que saboreo con puro estilo Panchito.

Pero sobre todas las cosas, Panchito tenía un profundo amor por los viajes. Conocer diferentes lugares no era solo un pasatiempo — era su forma de vivir, una manera de convivir con las personas que más amaba y crear recuerdos juntos. Su mayor felicidad era estar rodeado de sus hijos, nietos, hermanos y familia extendida, compartiendo comidas, carcajadas e historias del pasado. Esos momentos fueron su mayor tesoro, y los recuerdos que dejaron vivirán en el corazón de su familia por generaciones.

El velatorio se realizará miércoles, 13 de mayo de 2026 de 5:00 pm a 10:00 pm con una vigilia a las 7:00 pm en la Funeraria Del Ángel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. La misa fúnebre será jueves, 14 de mayo de 2026 a las 10:00 am en la Catedral de San Patricio, 1118 N Mesa St. El Paso, Texas 79902; seguido de una sepelio en el cementerio Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd. Santa Teresa, Nueva Mexico 88008.

He was born on May 15, 1946, in the beautiful city of Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, where the seeds of his vibrant character were first planted.

Panchito grew up in Delicias, Chihuahua, where he developed a deep and enduring love for his hometown and its beloved baseball team, Los Algodoneros de Delicias. At the age of 17, with courage and bravery, he immigrated to the United States, settling in Los Angeles before making El Paso, Texas his home in 1976 — a city he embraced and called his own.

Those who knew Panchito knew they were in the presence of someone truly special. He lived life entirely on his own terms, with a zest that was impossible to ignore. Wherever he went, a crowd naturally gathered — drawn to his infectious humor, his gift for storytelling, and the unmistakable warmth he radiated. He made every moment enjoyable, a testament to a man who understood the true value of time and togetherness.

A devoted Catholic, Panchito held deep faith close to his heart, inspired greatly by his beloved mother, Marianita, whose own unwavering faith was a guiding light in his life. He carried a special devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe — “mi Virgencita” — whose presence brought him comfort and strength throughout his days.

Panchito had a profound love for music, and few things brought him more joy than the soul-stirring sound of Mariachis. He was an avid sports fan — fiercely loyal to his beloved Algodoneros de Delicias and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and a passionate follower of boxing who never missed a good fight. He loved the thrill of poker, whether at the casino or gathered around the table at home with family and friends. And on a warm day, nothing quite hit the spot like an ice-cold beer with clamato and limón — a simple pleasure he savored in true Panchito fashion.

Above all else, Panchito had a deep love for traveling. Experiencing different places was not just a pastime — it was a way of life, a way of gathering with the people he loved most and making memories as one. He was at his happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, siblings and extended family, sharing meals, laughter, and stories of the past. Those moments were his greatest treasure, and the memories made will be carried in the hearts of his family for generations to come.

His dear siblings: Carlos, Manuel, and Aurelia

As well as many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whose lives he touched with his warmth and joy.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a vigil at 7:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa St. El Paso, Texas 79902 with interment to follow at Memory Garden of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd. Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.
