

Genoveva was born on January 3, 1928, in Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to José Ontiveros Pineda and Josephina Luna Pineda. Throughout her life she lived in El Paso, Texas; Sacramento, California; Bartonville, Texas; and most recently Lewisville, Texas, where she passed away.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Tarin Jr.; her parents; and her siblings Alicia, Leonor, Lorenzo, and José (“Pepe”).
Genoveva is survived by her children, Hector Tarin(Linda), and Evelyn Tarin-Moreno(David). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Hector Abel Tarin and Franklin Tarin Moreno, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Valentina Chanel Tarin.
Genoveva was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
She was an avid seamstress and found great joy in sewing, often creating beautiful clothing for herself and others. Sewing was not only a skill but a passion she enjoyed throughout her life.
Genoveva will be remembered for her love of family, her creativity, and the warmth she shared with those around her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 5 pm to 9 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3729 Hueco Avenue followed by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Blvd.
