

Gloria H. Acosta, 82, was called home to be with Our Lord. She went peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with dementia. Preceded in death by husband, Enrique Acosta, mother, Margarita Ramirez. Survived by daughters Peggy Olvera and Sylvia Acuna. Grandchildren Jessica Hanna (Michael), Daniel, Ruben Acuna. Sister Irma Yowell, and many nephews, nieces, cousins. Gloria was a 1950 graduate of El Paso High School after which she worked at Mountain Bell, retiring after 35 years of service. She spent her retirement years traveling and caring for her granddaughter. Known for her big heart and generosity, Gloria was a proud independent woman who always gave to those in need. She always put others first, never asking for anything in return. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed feeding everyone. Grandma loved to dance and get together with family and friends, had a witty and smart sense of humor and could always be counted on for a good laugh. Gloria, a woman of great faith was a great advocate of St. Jude. She will be tremendously missed. Mom, I will miss you dearly but you will forever be in my heart.
