Willie loved sports (mostly from his couch), small animals, and burritos in the morning. He loved
telling jokes with his friends and his brothers. He loved bragging about his children, his
grandchildren, and his great grandchildren; missing each of them more than they know. And he
deeply loved his wife Rosalia, who he fell for from the day they met 45 years ago and still blew her
kisses from his bed in his final days.
In all the fond memories and final thoughts that have been spoken about Guillermo Torres in these
past few days, the same sentiment is given every time: he loved many things but his heart and soul
belonged to his God. He was a deeply spiritual man who read the Bible every day. Willie was a
pioneer from an early age, facing religious and racial obstacles while spreading the word of God. He
gave his all in the service of Jehovah God for almost 70 years, preaching still just 3 days before he
passed to nurses or anyone who would listen.
Willie is survived by his wife Rosalia Torres, his sons Memo, Roman, and Aaron, his daughters
Nancy, Lily, and Ingrid. He will also be missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren who
will hopefully grow up to be as stubborn as he was.
Lucas 23:42-43
Entonces dijo: “Jesús, acuérdate de mí cuando entres en tu Reino”. Y él le contestó: “Yo te aseguro
hoy: estarás conmigo en el Paraíso”
