Helen J. Smith

Helen Smith, a beloved wife and mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born on September 6, 1942, in Kilgore, Texas, where she built a life filled with love, compassion, and cherished memories with her siblings.

Helen was a devoted family person, deeply committed to her husband of over 50 years. Helen was also devoted to their five children: Sandra, Jeannette, Rosemary, Katie, and David. Helen was a pillar of strength and a constant source of support, guiding her family with wisdom, patience, and unwavering love. Helen’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and closest loved ones. Although Helen didn’t come from a professional background, she excelled in many areas in her life. She had a passion for creativity which is displayed throughout her drawings, her culinary skills, and her ability to create and design unique designs for school programs.

Helen had a deep appreciation for mother nature; she loved outdoors. She enjoyed late night cookouts, or just sitting around on the patio in her backyard. Helen leaves behind six siblings: Bonnie Cabiness, Danny Anderson, Diana Johnston, Cleveland Brown, Patricia Minifield, and Brenda McIver. Helen will be remembered for her caring nature and warm smile, her gentle demeanor, and her warm and compassionate heart. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
