Jesus D. Gonzalez

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jesus D. Gonzalez, 88, of Dell City, Texas, passed away from natural causes in El Paso, surrounded by family on February 16, 2025. He was born in La Union, New Mexico in December 1936, to Maria Rita (Dominguez) and Francisco Gonzalez. At the young age of 12, he and his family moved to Dell City, Texas where they made a living in the agriculture industry. Jesus loved Dell City where he remained for 75 years. As a young boy, Jesus learned how to work and help his dad by driving a tractor and cultivating the land. In the years that followed he cultivated lands for other farmers. Jesus often traveled to Zacatecas, Mexico where he fell in love and married Maria Nieves Gonzalez. Together, they raised seven children in Dell City. Having spent 20 years working with Hudspeth County from where he retired, Jesus dedicated his life to working and raising his family. Although a quiet man, Jesus demonstrated his love through his patience and always being present for his family. As a consistently hard worker, Jesus exemplified perseverance and success through his dedicated work ethic. When not working, he liked to play pranks on his children so they would remember him when he wasn’t home. His favorite pie was Lemon Meringue, and his favorite color was red. His love of coffee ensured the faithful tradition of morning coffee drinking was passed on to his children. Jesus is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria Nieves; children, Elva Gonzalez, Martha A. Chavez, Maria del Socorro Rivera, Oscar Gonzalez, Celia S. Garcia, Mayra E. Ruiz, and Josephina Espinoza. He is also survived by 14 beloved grandchildren, Bernadette F. Martinez, Elisa Rivera, Michelle Reyes, Maria N. Rivera, George Vincent Chavez, Fabian L. Ruiz, Andrew Ruiz, Cecilia Marden, Oscar Jr. Gonzalez, Kimberly Gonzalez, Celeste Garcia, Aymar Garcia, Jasmine Espinoza, Isaac Espinoza; and 4 great grandchildren, Elijia Martinez, Elena Martinez, Malecki Ruiz and Zaya Ruiz. He also leaves behind his best Friends of over 50 years, Ramon Cadena and Gilberto Castillo.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East, 12400 Montana Ave, 79938. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at San Isidro Catholic Church, 6148 Westside Rd, Dell City, TX 79837. Rite of Committal will follow in Dell Valley Memorial Acres Cemetery. There will be a reception at the San Isidro Church Hall following services.

We the family of Jesus Gonzales would like to express our sincerest gratitude to family and friends who were supportive and attentive of his medical supply needs in his ailing health. We express sincere appreciation in particular to his wife Nieves, as well as Elva, Martha, Socorro, Bernadette, Sergio, and Joseph. We are thankful to Bien Vivir-All Inclusive Senior Heath for their unwavering support. We are most grateful to Dr. Pardo and nurses, Cindy, Rebecca, Rachelle, Lydia and Rene. We also appreciate all those nurses and staff who always made Jesus feel welcome at Bien Vivir. Additional healthcare providers, Dr. Cota, Dr. Pandi, Dr. Jones, and Dr. Wilson are also greatly appreciated for taking good care of Dad.

Nuestro querido esposo, padre, y abuelo, Jesús D. Gonzalez, falleció el jueves 16 de febrero de 2025 a la edad de 88 años. Hijo de María Rita Domínguez y Francisco González, Jesús nació en diciembre de 1936 en La Unión, Nevo México. Cuando él tenía 12 años Jesús y su familia se mudaron a Dell City, Texas donde formaron parte de la industria agrícola. El amo su vida en Dell City donde permaneció por 75 años. De niño, Jesús aprendió a trabajar, ayudando a su padre manejando el tractor y cultivando la tierra. Al paso del tiempo, el cultivo las tierras de otros agricultores. Jesús viajaba a Zacatecas, México donde conoció a María Nieves de quien se enamoró. Ellos fueron bendecidos con 63 años de matrimonio y juntos crearon a sus 7 hijos en Dell City. Jesús trabajó con el condado de Hudspeth de donde se retiró después de 20 años. Él dedicaba su vida al trabajo y a su familia. Aunque el era un hombre callado, Jesús demostraba su amor a su familia a través de su paciencia y con el estar presente para ellos. Él fue un hombre trabajador y dedicado al cual su perseverancia y ética se presentaba en el éxito de su trabajo. Cuando el no estaba trabajando, a Jesús le gustaba hacerle bromas a sus hijos para que lo recordaran cuando no estuviera en casa. El disfrutaba mucho de pastel Lemon Meringue y su color preferido era el rojo. Su amor por beber café en las mañanas fue adquirido por sus hijos ya que ellos continúan la tradición fielmente. A Jesús le sobrevive su amada esposa, María Nieves González, y sus adorados hijos, Elva Gonzalez, Martha A. Chavez, María del Socorro Rivera, Oscar Gonzalez, Celia S. García, Mayra E. Ruiz, and Josephina Espinoza. El también deja atrás as sus queridos nietos, Bernadette F. Martínez, Elisa Rivera, Michelle Reyes, María N. Rivera, George Vincent Chavez, Fabian L. Ruiz, Andrew Ruiz, Cecilia Marden, Oscar Jr. Gonzalez, Kimberly Gonzalez, Celeste García, Aymar García, Jasmine Espinoza, Isaac Espinoza y bisnietos, Elijia Martinez, Elena Martinez, Malecki Ruiz y Zaya Ruiz. También recordándolo estarán sus amigos de más de 50 años, Ramon Cadena y Gilberto Castillo. La velación se llevará a cabo el jueves 6 de marzo de 2025 de 5 p.m. a 9 p.m. con el Santo Rosario a las 7 p.m. en Funeraria Del Ángel Evergreen East, 12400 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas 79938. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo el viernes 7 de marzo de 2025 a las 10 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica San Isidro, 6148 Westside Rd, Dell City, Texas 79837 seguida por su inhumación en Dell Valley Memorial Acres Cemetery. Habrá una recepción que se llevará a cabo en el salón de la Iglesia después de los servicios.

Toda nuestra familia expresa sincera gratitud a cada miembro y amigo que ofreció apoyo y estuvo al tanto de las necesidades médicas durante el delicado estado de salud de Jesús.
