John Edward Ponce

John is survived by his wife of 34 years Maria Teresa , his only child John Edward Jr, (Magdalena), 2 beautiful granddaughters Jazmine Azaray & Georgina Marie, his mother, Carolina G. Ponce, his brothers Anthony(Dolores), Robert, Daniel(Jeri), sister, Margaret Rose, brother-in-law, Sergio Delgadillo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

John was born July 21, 1955 in El Paso, Texas. He is graduate of Jefferson High School Class of 1974. He was retiree of the El Paso Street Department. He served as Vice President of the Crockett Elementary and Carlos Cordova Middle PTA's. John was a volunteer coach of 3 different Little League baseball teams & 2 of his sons Football teams. He was also a FRG member for the 204th Security Forces Squadron TXANG.

John left this earth with his son by his side and all the love of his family. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a soft spoken gentle soul with the biggest heart. His absence leaves an emptiness in our lives but his acts of kindness to all he touched fills our hearts with love.

Please come join the celebration of Johns life. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Martin Funeral Home Central with a 7:00pm Rosary. Funeral Mass will be 12:00pm Friday, January 3, 2014 at Our Lady of The Light Catholic. Interment will follow at Evergreen Alameda Cemetery.
