Joe what can i say, the Lord chose a perfect person to watch over us down here in this crazy world. We are sad to know that you are no longer here with us in body but know you are in our hearts. We all loved you and everyone you left behind has a piece missing from their hearts. You were a special person to my family and myself and I appreciated every kind word, hug and consolation you ever gave. Thank you for being you. I will always know you by this name given to you by the  obvious but for me the Giant Heart you had…Thanks for the memories both in School and later  in our continued friendship on the Golf course every second Saturday as you were the Administrator..and those special talks about life. Joe, it’s hard to believe you are no longer here with us; we just talked and laughed less than two weeks ago. I’m going to miss you and my visits to City Hall will not be the same. I’m truly lost for words…… I do know I find condolence in  knowing  deep in my heart God must have needed a very special angel for a great assignment  and this is why he took you. God only takes the best… 

To Joe’s parents and family – My thought and prayers are with you in your time of grief.  May the wonderful memories you have of Joe and the wonderful stories I am sure you will hear about him bring you comfort.

Joe, we will miss you.  How am I going to tease Gilbert when you would "drag" him out to the golf course on his "honey do" days.  You lived your life to the fullest, had a big heart, and always made people laugh.  God blessed this world with your presence and now he took you back to help him in his kingdom. You were such a great friend. We meet as drummers at Jefferson High and continued our friendship on the golf course. Joe.... I had a year to enjoy your friendship.... I am very thankful and grateful to God, for giving me such a wonderful oppotunity. I will miss our baseball talks.... I will miss the golf games.... And most of all, The Laughter. It was an honor and a privilege to have you as a friend. From now on.... Everytime I tee off.... I will look up and know that you are looking over me. Joe, I knew you for only a little while.  But what I observed from you, you were a gracious person who always took the time to say hello to people, even when you did not really them.  You went out of your way to make sure people were happy and that even the lowliest of persons was counted.  I thank God for the short time I knew you, you were a blessing then as you are now.
