“Irene,” was born November 10, 1927 in St. James, Minnesota. During WWII, Irene volunteered as a Grey Lady with the Red Cross. She attended business school in St. Paul, Minnesota. Following business school, Irene worked as a receptionist until she met and married Clinton Charles Johnson, July 19, 1952. They were married 62 years until he passed in 2014.
Irene was very committed to volunteer work in every community she lived. In El Paso, she was a member of Ladies of Charity and worked with the Altar Society of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Irene was a devoted mother to her five children: Deborah A. Johnson (William), Kent D. Johnson (Marsha), Constance M. Wilson (Donald), Cynthia J. Vechan (Christian) and Mark C. Johnson (Nene).
Irene will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Visitation for Julia will be held Monday, August 16, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil at 6:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79903. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 17, at 1:00 PM at Ft Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso, TX. 79906.
