On January 4, 2015, Keith J. O’Leary passed away in his sleep. He was born in Mitchell, South Dakota, but lived most of his life in El Paso. He was a loving brother, devoted father, and an unequaled friend to many. Keith was the owner and operator of Keith Construction for 40 years and Tresent Land for the past 30 years. He was a World War II navy veteran. As a devout catholic, he attended mass daily until a few months ago. He was a proud, kind, intelligent, generous man, with an infectious laugh that filled everyone with his love of life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Agnes O’Leary; his father, Gerald O’Leary; and his brothers, Harlan, Gerry, and Gale O’Leary. He is survived by his sister, Rita Foster and his brother, Bill O’Leary, both of whom he loved dearly. He was the father of seven children who adored him. He was blessed with five daughters and two sons: Sheila Henslee (Bob) of Columbia, TN ; Marsha Hendrus (Joe) of New Braunfels; TX; Colleen Vanstory (Charles) of McKinney, TX ; Maureen O’Leary Woodyard (Lewis) of El Paso, and Nicole O’Leary (Ysidro De La O) of El Paso; Curtis O’Leary of Shreveport, LA, and Keith J. O’Leary II (Selena) of El Paso. His daughters and sons extended the O’Leary clan with 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Keith worked from the time he was a child to take care of his family. He always put them first in his life. We will all miss that smile that filled our hearts with warmth. His love will forever surround and protect his family. While our hearts ache at his loss, we are grateful that he is at peace and with his family whom he missed so much. The O’Leary family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Vista Hills Health Care Center for their respectful care and the innumerable kindnesses extended to him and his children. We will be forever grateful that they made him comfortable in his last days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota, [email protected], in his name.
