Bonding her youth with God was with the Lord God at Rafting Creek Baptist Church Horatio, South Carolina

High School: Booker T Washington Columbia South Carolina she was united in holy matrimony to Junia L. Polk in 1945

To this union were 3 children James Carl Polk, Eric O Polk, Maherley Denise Polk. They spent 4 years in Germany.

She worked in child development centers in Fort Huachuca, Arizona and Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, she was one of

The first retired child care workers after 25 years at Ft Bliss in 1991. In 1980 she united with the Unity Missionary

Baptist Church. Mentions of her service as Deaconess/ Prayer Warrior/ Missions ETC her mission was to follow Jesus.

He is Lord. Psalms 27. Her stands were high but not too high to reach out to others praying saying He is Lord and Prayer Conquers sin.

A visitation for Maherley will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 4601 Maxwell Ave, El Paso, TX 79904. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 4601 Maxwell Ave, El Paso, TX 79904. A committal service will occur Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906, El Paso, TX 79906.
