Margarita Lightbourn Harbeck passed away on July 31st, 2018 at the age of 73. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. She was a teacher with the El Paso School District, and she was very involved with the Texas Democratic Party, the Women’s Liberation Movement, Women’s Political Caucus, and the Rights for People with Disabilities. Preceding her in death were her father and mother, Ramon and Cira Lightbourn; her brothers, Y. Ramon Lightbourn and Salvador Lightbourn and her sisters, Gloria Lightbourn and Rose Fonseca, her husband Earl Harbeck and her granddaughter, Olivia Chin. She is survived by many friends and family including her children, Suzanne Lightbourn, Laura Lopez, John Lightbourn and Veronica Flores. She is also survived by her sisters, Alicia Lightbourn, Lucila Lightbourn, Elizabeth Núñez her brother Arturo Lightbourn and her grandchildren James David Montelongo, Mike Chin, Evan Lightbourn, Samantha Lightbourn, Clark Lightbourn and Sebastian Reyes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24th, 2018 at from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana with a 12:00 pm Memorial Service , followed by inurnment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of El Paso, 4991 Fred Wilson.
