Ramon was born in El Paso, Texas on August 24, 1945, to Soledad and Ramon Gutierrez.
Raised in a family of seven, he was a proud son of El Paso's Segundo Barrio. He attended Aoy Elementary, Bowie Middle, and Bowie High School, where he played in the band and graduated with the class of 1965. Two months later, he bravely joined the U.S. Navy where he served with distinction.
Ramon spent most of his professional career working as the Director of Engineering at Tony Lama. He also worked at Yazaki North American and started a number of small businesses, most recently the Apex Company where he enjoyed making stamps and awards.
His passions included baseball, archery, camping, collecting coins, traveling, and researching his family’s rich history. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and family, and playing with his grandchildren. Always ready with a joke, he never interacted with a person without trying to make them smile.
Ramon is survived by his loving wife, Cecy; his sons, Alex and wife Deanna, and Anthony and wife Sarah; stepchildren Jacob and wife Sandra, Jimmy and wife Janae, and Marisela and husband Aaron; grandchildren Jacob, Diego, Julian, Isabela, Santi, Jordan, Hudson, Haizer, Hendrix, Anni-Sienna, Mai-Soile, Brenden, Griffin, Zoe, Ella, Isabel, Layla, Jude; and siblings Irene, Louie, Licha, Mague.
