Robert Jay (Bob) Lambeth passed away peacefully December 22, 2021 surrounded by his wife Denise, brother Dave and friends and family, following a stroke a few days prior. A life-long resident of El Paso, Bob attended Coldwell Grade School and Austin High School. He then earned a degree in anthropology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. After graduating, he carried out archaeological field work in Mexico before returning to El Paso to join his father’s home building business, where he designed and built innovative energy-efficient homes long before it became fashionable. He was passionate about science and taught natural sciences in El Paso high and middle schools for many years. He wrote several historical novels, the Justin Crumble series, set in the greater El Paso area.
He was preceded in death by his mother Colleen Hodges Lambeth and his father JD Lambeth. He is survived by his wife, Denise Bulloch Lambeth, his brother Dave, his family in-laws, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many friends who he considered family. Special thanks to all the family and friends who assisted in his healing process, care and friendship throughout the years.
A vigil will take place Thursday January 6th at 6pm at Funeraria del Angel Central 3839 Montana Avenue. Graveside services will occur on Friday, January 7th at 1030 am at Restlawn Cemetery. Bob was dedicated to the mission of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to stjude.org in his name.
